August has been another busy and exciting month for DJ BON, with weddings, nightlife, karaoke, travel, and plenty of unforgettable moments throughout Hampton Roads, Virginia.

Wedding DJ at Kiln Creek Golf Club & Resort in Newport News
One of the highlights of August was celebrating the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Freeman at Kiln Creek Golf Club & Resort in Newport News, Virginia.
Kiln Creek Golf Club & Resort is a beautiful Hampton Roads destination for weddings and private events, and it provided the perfect setting for an incredible celebration.
From the special moments early in the celebration to a packed dance floor later in the evening, we had an amazing time celebrating the new Mr. and Mrs. Freeman.
Weddings like this are a big part of why I love what I do.
Every wedding crowd is different. You may have several generations in the same room, all with different musical tastes. Being able to read the crowd, transition between genres, recognize what is working, and keep guests engaged is an important part of creating a memorable wedding reception.
There is no universal wedding playlist. My goal is always to create the right soundtrack for that couple, that family, and that room.
Friday Nights at Tailored Smoke in Suffolk, VA
August also meant getting back behind the decks at Tailored Smoke Cigar Lounge & Restaurant in Suffolk, Virginia.
Tailored Smoke Cigar Lounge & Restaurant recently opened its Suffolk location on Pruden Boulevard and has quickly added music, karaoke, food, and nightlife events to the local scene.
Performing at Tailored Smoke gives me the opportunity to create a completely different atmosphere from a wedding reception.
On a Friday night, that may mean mixing smooth R&B, old-school favorites, hip-hop, classics, sing-alongs, and those records that immediately get the entire room involved.
That variety is one of the things I enjoy most about being a DJ!!
One night I may be entertaining hundreds of wedding guests.
The next, I may be creating the soundtrack for a lounge full
of people looking to relax, socialize, dance, and enjoy their
Friday night.
Different crowd. Different energy. Different music. Same goal: make sure people have a great time.
A Little San Francisco 49ers Time at Levi's Stadium
August was not all work.
I also had the opportunity to travel back to California and make another visit to Levi’s Stadium, home of my San Francisco 49ers.
Anyone who knows DJ BON already knows that I am a serious Niners fan, so getting back to Levi’s Stadium was definitely another highlight of the month.
A little football, a little California, and then it was right back to Virginia and back to work.
